CARRBORO, N.C. (WTVD) -- More than two months after Tropical Storm Chantal hit central North Carolina, some Carrboro residents are still recovering.

"It was terrible," Mercedes Terrell said.

Terrell lives in the Weatherhill Pointe neighborhood, where there was damage from floodwaters.

"Everything on the first floor was full of water, and we had to throw away all the furniture, basically everything," she said.

Terrell said she's still displaced, adding that it's sad to see the neighborhood like this.

"It looks like a ghost street right now," Terrell said.
