MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - A Dane County detox center that’s served the community for decades could close at the end of the year.
Tellurian Behavioral Health says it can’t keep running the program under the current contract.
“Long, long, long story short, the reimbursement rates we get do not come close to meeting our bottom line,” Kevin Florek said.
Florek has worked with Tellurian for more than 30 years. He says walking away from detox isn’t about a lack of will, but a lack of resources.
“And it saddens us, and that’s the main reason we’re here tonight, is because we love this population,” Florek said.
