The family of suspected murder victim Susan Goodwin has issued a statement thanking those involved in the investigation and search for her remains.
It followed a breakthrough in the cold case on Wednesday, when human remains, believed to be those of Ms Goodwin, were found buried in the backyard of a Port Lincoln home.
Following the discovery, a 64-year-old man was charged with her alleged murder.
"Your efforts over the past few days have finally brought us the answers we've been looking for after such a long time," the family said in the statement issued via SA Police.
"We'd also like to give a heartfelt thank you to the people who have been on this journey with us over the years, both in friendship and through investigations — your ongoing support, care and pursuit of the truth have m
