SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — A lawsuit against the former MercyOne Siouxland Medical Center is moving forward to being dismissed.
Court documents indicate that Cynthia Tener filed for dismissal with prejudice in District Court on September 9. A judge still needs to rule whether or not the suit will be dismissed.
Tener filed the wrongful termination lawsuit in 2022, accusing MercyOne and its affiliated companies of firing her. This was due to reporting public safety concerns and malpractice concerns involving a heart surgeon to MercyOne’s ethics committee.
Earlier in September, UnityPoint Health acquired MercyOne Siouxland, with the transition of ownership complete.
