GARDEN PLAIN, Kan. (KSNW) - It's a battle of the birds. This Friday's Game of the Week will feature a true small-town clash, as the Cheney Cardinals travel to face the Garden Plain Owls.

Cheney and Garden Plain don't share a whole lot of love when it comes to the football field.

"It's kind of like your close brother or cousin that you don't ever want to lose to because then you have to hear about it for the next year," Cheney head football coach Shelby Wehrman said.

"There's some tension to it, but that's a good thing too. There's a lot of former GP people that live over there and vice versa. So it's just kind of fun to be a part of," Garden Plain head football coach Todd Rice said.
