It can come with some pressure, being a wide receiver named Nitro.
NiTareon Tuggle, whose middle school teammates bestowed the nickname on him, at first did not welcome it. As time has gone on, however, the Boilermakers’ receiver has come to embrace the moniker.
“It’s grown on me,” Tuggle says. “I accept it now.”
It helps when you’re good enough to live up to the name and Tuggle certainly has been. At high school in NorthWood he was one of the best receivers in the country, ranked among the top 150 players by most recruiting services.
In college at Georgia, he was able to get on the field as a true freshman for the Southeastern Conference champions and now in West Lafayette he has emerged as one of several Boiler receivers capable of tying defenses in knots.
“I think he’s got a tremen
