MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas (KBTX) - Two people were arrested this week in New Caney after being caught “actively” stealing thousands of dollars’ worth of copper wire.
According to a press release from the Montgomery County Constable, authorities responded to a report of a possible theft of metal on Grand Parkway and FM 1485 East. The caller said a suspect was loading copper wire into a red Toyota Camry.
Deputies from Precinct 4 responded and discovered the vehicle matching the description given by the witness, as well as a man “actively stuffing wire into the rear of the vehicle.”
The man, identified as Kerry Crenshaw Jr., 35, of New Caney, was taken into custody without incident.
