A Covington woman celebrated as she turns 100 and is now sharing her story as she's honored by both the City of Cincinnati and Covington Independent Schools for her decades-long career as an educator.

"I had a beautiful career, an outstanding career," she says.

During her career as an educator, she broke down barriers to create a better future for generations of students in Greater Cincinnati.

"I was born in Covington, Kentucky, on Sept. 12, 1925, 100 years ago," said Dean.

Dean shared more about her early life.

"My father was a Baptist Minister," said Dean, "My mother was a dedicated working woman at home. She started her own business. She sold barbecue... that helped send all four of us to college."
