BANGOR, Maine — A top diplomat from Aruba paid a visit to Husson University in Bangor on Wednesday to talk about getting more students from the island nation to study in Maine.
Minister Plenipotentiary Zulema Erasmus represents the interests of the government of Aruba in Washington, D.C., overseeing diplomatic relations and economic development
"The best part of my work is the social part," Minister Erasmus said.
That work led her to visit Bangor, where she's working to create a pathway for students from Aruba to study at Husson University.
"More and more, we are trying to stimulate them to study in the U.S.," Minister Erasmus said.
According to Minister Erasmus, the college graduation rate of Aruban students is higher when they study in the U.S.
