HANNIBAL – The halfway point of the high school football season begins tonight in Ohio as River hosts Cameron on the artificial surface at Martin Flannery Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 o’clock.
This will be the ninth all-time meeting, but the first since 1965 with the Dragons (2-0) holding a 5-2-1 advantage in the series, which dates back to 1958 when Cameron won 7-2. In fact, the Dragons won the first five meetings (1958-62) while the Pilots (3-1) prevailed in 1963 and 1965. The two tied in 1964.
River had scored 75 points in the prior meetings, one more than Cameron, which is ranked No. 2 in W.Va. Class A. The Dragons were state runnersup last winter.
The Pilots have defeated Perry Traditional from Pittsburgh (36-12), Buckeye Local (21-12) and Magnolia (42-0) last week. The lone blemi
