RATHDRUM, Idaho – Residents in Kootenai County have the opportunity to weigh in on plans to improve traffic flow through the Rathdrum Prairie area.

The Idaho Transportation Department is focusing on 13 projects after initially proposing 50.

This area is a major growth point for the county, and recent zoning changes in Rathdrum have opened the community to more residential development.

The department emphasized the importance of ensuring infrastructure keeps pace with growth.

Two public meetings have been organized to discuss these developments. The first meeting took place at the Coeur d'Alene Chamber of Commerce.

The second meeting is scheduled for Thursday, September 18, at the Q'emiln Park Trail Head Event Center in Post Falls.
