ABC is yanking Jimmy Kimmel’s late night show off the air indefinitely in the wake of government threats following comments he made about Charlie Kirk’s killing.
“Jimmy Kimmel Live will be pre-empted indefinitely,” a network spokesperson told HuffPost in a statement Wednesday.
On Monday’s show, Kimmel criticized the response to the killing from people on the right, a statement that’s drawn the ire of conservatives and threats of penalties from FCC Chair Brendan Carr .
“We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it,” Kimmel said . “In between the finger-pointing, there was grieving.
