Shotts Bon Accord assistant boss Martin Devlin heaped praise on club stalwart Ally Martin after the club captain marked a milestone 250th appearance with a deadly double in their win over Easthouses Lily.
The day started with the midfielder being given a guard of honour by both sides as he made his way onto the Hannah Park turf he knows so well and it ended with him bagging a brace in a 4-0 win to send Shotts into round three of the South Challenge Cup.
Marc McKenzie and Taylor Evans fired the hosts into a 2-0 lead after just 12 minutes before Martin netted a penalty on the half-hour mark, completing the win in the second half with a strike in 72 minutes.
Martin is approaching his testimonial year and Devlin was delighted with his showing and the team’s on Saturday.
