A Quick Pick ticket bought in Columbia led to a Missouri Lottery player winning a $50,000 prize in the Aug. 30 Powerball drawing, according to a news release from the Missouri Lottery. The winner says the money will go toward his wedding.
The player purchased the winning ticket at Break Time, 7701 Roanoke Drive, in Columbia.
“I normally don’t play, but I just stepped up to the vending machine and let it pick out my numbers,” the winner said in the release.
The day after the drawing, he checked his numbers and realized he won.
“It was super exciting,” he said in the news release. “I’m getting married soon, so this will help with that.”
The winning numbers that night were 3, 18, 22, 27 and 33. The Powerball number of 17.
