A former bank in Kilmarnock town centre had been branded as a "derelict playground for vandals and firebugs" by its neighbours. ‌

GMB Scotland have called for action to protect the Grade B Listed building at The Cross from further damage after recent break-ins. ‌

The union has only recently reopened their office next door after a burst pipe in the former Royal Bank of Scotland building caused flooding. ‌

Earlier this year, a devastating fire on nearby King Street resulted in another listed building being demolished and Paul Arkison, senior organiser with GMB Scotland, is worried the former bank could be next.
