Atleast 12 workers and supervisors engaged in the city’s anti-dengue campaign who were absent from duty but marked their attendance through fraudulent means have been dismissed from service.

The health department confirmed that both male and female staff were found sending fake photographs to claim presence during inspections. Further inquiries are underway into negligence during the anti-dengue campaign.

Meanwhile, anti-dengue efforts continue across the district as 20 new cases were reported in the past 24 hours. The total number of patients in Rawalpindi has now reached 394, with 81 currently under treatment in city hospitals, including 38 confirmed cases. No fatalities have been reported this season.
