Chris Davis of South Lyon was on a tight schedule but he got it done.

Construction on the new Sheetz fuel station, restaurant and convenience store in Chesterfield Township is complete and the grand opening/ribbon-cutting ceremony set for Sept. 23 from 9 to 11 a.m.

“It’s exciting to be part of a brand new company coming to Michigan,” said the construction manager for Sheetz outside of the facility Tuesday.

The family-owned chain that started in Pennsylvania in 1952 has expanded to include more than 700 locations in seven states. Southeast Michigan is the latest region to see new openings or construction underway for 15 Sheetz locations including Macomb, Roseville, Warren, Eastpointe, Fraser and Shelby Township.
