Human remains discovered in an area of woodland near a Stirlingshire village have been identified as 87-year-old Thomas Robb, reported missing back in 2012.
Police received a report of human remains found in woodland near Fintry at around 10.50am on Monday, September 8.
Formal identification has now taken place and the remains have been confirmed as those of Mr Robb, who had been missing from the Carron Valley area since August of 2012.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "His family has been informed and they are being supported by specially trained officers.
"The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
Frantic searches were carried
