It was quite the eye-opener for a Troy homeowner recently when his dogs’ barking awoke him shortly before midnight to find a man standing inside his residence in the 2200 block of Hempstead Street, police said.
Officers called to the scene on a report of a man outside the home who was banging on the door and making a lot of noise saw him on the front porch and noted he appeared to be extremely intoxicated, police said.
The man was uncooperative and refused to answer officers’ questions, police said. It was subsequently determined that he lived down the street. A citation for entering without permission was issued.
As of Sept. 18, the man, age 29, hadn’t yet been arraigned, police said.
