ALBANY, N.Y. — New York Governor Kathy Hochul announced Thursday that state has released its 2025-26 COVID-19 vaccine guidance.

The guidance now recommends COVID vaccination for children that are between 6 months and 18 years old, all adults, and people who are at higher risk, including those who are pregnant, lactating, or immunocompromised. It also reminds insurers of previously issued guidance requiring them to cover COVID vaccines for children, and urges for employers and other entities who provide self-funded health care coverage to continue covering the cost of vaccines.

The guidelines were released ahead of this week's federal Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices meeting.
