ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - About two weeks after immigration authorities detained hundreds of South Korean nationals at a Hyundai manufacturing site in Georgia, the automaker announced that the same plant is set to expand.
Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America in Ellabell, Georgia — about 20 miles northwest of Savannah — is scheduled to produce 500,000 units by 2028. The expansion involves a $2.7 billion investment and will create 3,000 more jobs.
