Galen Mook of the MassBike: Massachusetts Bicycle Coalition spoke to the Bicycle and Pedestrian Committee about electronic bikes (e-bikes) during a meeting held on Monday, September 15.
Bicycle and Pedestrian Committee chairman Sean Polay said the committee invited Mook to gain perspective regarding how other communities with recently opened shared-use paths are dealing with the usage of e-bikes.
Mook said navigating path usage between e-bike users and walkers, bicyclists, et cetera, is a rising concern across the state. He noted that the use of other electronic devices such as scooters, one-wheels and skateboards has increased.
