A woman is accused of breaking into vehicles in a Maine jail parking lot after posting bail on a previous warrant.

Lisa Adames, 49, is accused of leaving the York County Jail after posting bail and wandering around the parking lot before stealing cigarettes out of one car and jewelry from a correctional officer's car.

According to the York County Sheriff's Office, Adames faces felony charges of burglary of a motor vehicle because of prior theft conviction.

Adames also allegedly tried to run away from Chief Deputy Jeremy Forbes who ran out to confront her during the car burglaries. As a result, Adames also faces a charge of refusal to submit to arrest.

Adames was denied bail and will make her first court appearance on Friday at the York Judicial Center in Biddeford.
