SEATTLE — A driver fleeing Seattle police Wednesday jumped a partially-opened University Bridge to escape officers.

Police officers saw a vehicle with a license plate that came back as stolen and followed it but did not initiate a pursuit. They lost sight of the vehicle.

Later, the vehicle was found stuck in traffic at the University Bridge, according to police. Officers tried to stop the vehicle but it drove off.

The vehicle drove through the crossing arms of the bridge while it was still partially up, jumping from one section to the other.

The vehicle was found at NE 42nd Street and Pasadena Place NE. It was still running but is considered totaled, according to police.

The suspect is still on the loose.

This is a developing story. Please check back for updates.
