CHENANGO COUNTY, N.Y. (WBNG) -- The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of two individuals following an investigation into the theft of diesel fuel from local gas stations.

The investigation was launched after the sheriff’s office received reports of approximately $70,000 worth of diesel fuel stolen from businesses in Chenango County.

Security footage from several locations provided the suspects’ vehicle descriptions.

On Sept. 15, at approximately 11:30 p.m., deputies observed a vehicle matching the description of a suspect’s vehicle at a local gas station.

Two individuals then engaged in stealing diesel fuel when deputies arrived. Both were detained.

The individuals were identified as Victor Martinez, 38, of Allentown, and Osnely Pino Arago, 44, of Miami, Florida
