Thanks to some deft last-minute negotiations, the blackout has been lifted for a good chunk of the team’s fans who faced the potential of being in the dark for one of the Jays most-anticipated game of the season.
Friday’s contest in Kansas City — which looms as a potential playoff-clinching date for the Jays — no longer is an exclusive Apple TV+ contest thanks to some last-minute negotiations from multiple parties.
Instead, the Apple TV+ feed of the Jays-Royals game will be simulcast on the streaming service as well as the usual Sportsnet feeds, thus giving all Canadians access to what is seen as a potentially critical late-season contest.
