PLEASANTON, Neb. (KSNB) - Pleasanton Public Schools held a groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday as the school prepares to start work on a new addition.
Earlier this year, voters approved an $11 million bond to create more space and upgrade learning environments.
The event started at 8:30 a.m. at the elementary playground and was followed by a brief ceremony attended by students, staff and members of the community.
Pleasanton Public Schools said the project addresses space concerns that the board has been discussing for several years with enrollment numbers climbing.
Superintendent, Nathan Lightle said those enrollment numbers led to the idea to bring a bond forward.
“When it really ramped up is when we realized that now these students are moving on to the middle school and not only d
