A lot changed for the New Orleans Saints between the end of last year and the start of this one, but when training camp opened their wide receiver group was essentially the same as the one they fielded in 2024.

The only addition New Orleans made to its receiving corps was Brandin Cooks , a 31-year-old entering his 12th NFL season. And Cooks didn’t feel like much of a change: He is roughly similar in size and skillset to the Saints’ two starters, and he spent three seasons in New Orleans to start his career.

Now fast forward to mid September, and the Saints have added three new receivers to their group, two by trade and one by waiver claim. Devaughn Vele , Ja’Lynn Polk and Trey Palmer have all joined the Saints since August 20.
