It's no secret that several Taylor Swift songs were featured in the hit series "The Summer I Turned Pretty."

While appearing on TODAY Sept. 18, Jenny Han, show creator and author of “The Summer I Turned Pretty,” talked about featuring Swift's songs in the franchise and how her music compliments protagonist Belly’s story.

“I’ll just say that Taylor is an amazing storyteller and her music is so evocative and emotional and the way that we could have it peek into Belly’s inner thoughts with her music,” she told TODAY's Savannah Guthrie and Craig Melvin.
