SOMERS, Conn — The “Where Angels Play Foundation” is putting the final touches on a new playground dedicated to the memory of four Somers children. Lukas was 11, Genevieve was 9, Benjamin was 7 and Archer was 5; The Koropatkin siblings died in a tragic fire on Jan. 2, 2024 , inside their Somers home.
Since the death of the children, the community has rallied to remember the Koropatkin siblings. In March, on what is known as Jersey Mike’s “Day of Giving,” franchisees Ken and Audrey Schanke, who own four Jersey Mike’s locations, including one in nearby Enfield, helped to raise $120,000 to build the playground with Where Angels Play.
