The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices on Thursday was expected to vote on a change to the measles, mumps, rubella and varicella vaccines, recommending that children 4 and younger get two separate shots.

The quadrivalent shot that combines all four would no longer be recommended for children 4 and younger. One doctor spoke about the impact on vaccine hesitancy, cost coverage and parental choice.
