ANSONIA, Conn. — Have you seen him? The Ansonia Nature & Recreation Center is searching for its snake, Calvin, who the Center says was stolen last week.

Calvin was last seen on Tuesday, Sept. 9, at 2 p.m. after being given fresh water, the Center said. When it came time to clean the tank later, Calvin was not there.

"Calvin is super-friendly, which is why someone was able to get away with doing this," the Center said of the California Banded King Snake.

The Center concluded that Calvin was stolen and informed the public Thursday after they said visitors have been asking about him.

"Since Calvin's friends and visitors have been asking where the beautiful snake went, we thought it was the right thing to do to let you know that he was stolen from the Ansonia Nature Center," the Center sai
