FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Zero Hour Arkansas is organizing a student-and-community-led town hall next week to address the growing student housing shortage at the University of Arkansas.

The event, set for Monday, Sept. 22 at 6 p.m. in Old Main’s Giffels Auditorium, comes over a year after Fayetteville officials declared a citywide housing crisis in April 2024.

The discussion will center on affordable housing, transit equity, climate and environment concerns and food security, according to Zero Hour Arkansas' social media.

Zero Hour Arkansas launched the Students for an Equitable and Livable Future (SELF) campaign earlier this year to advocate for changes to university housing policies. The group claims over-enrollment has contributed to a shortage of affordable on-campus housing,
