Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray apologized on Wednesday for an Instagram post that included a photo of himself wearing a throwback Virginia Tech Michael Vick jersey. In the picture, Murray was posing with one of his bulldogs.

Vick pled guilty to operating a dogfighting ring in 2007 and spent 21 months in federal prison. Murray took down the post after backlash online.

“In no way, shape or form do I condone animal cruelty or dogfighting,” Murray said to reporters, via ESPN .

Murray said he wore the jersey before Arizona’s win over the Carolina Panthers on Sunday because he grew up a fan of Vick’s.

Murray has two bulldogs named Swoosh and Trunks.
