MOORHEAD — It has been said three things can happen when you throw the football and two of them are bad. But with the top passing offense in NCAA Division II, Minnesota State University Moorhead football prefers to take its chances.
“This is a special place," said senior receiver Gage Florence. "There's not many places in the country you get the opportunity we get. We're slinging the ball 50 times a game."
The numbers don't lie. At 3-0, MSUM leads Division II in passing yards per game (379.7), passing touchdowns (17) and completions (90). The Dragons average 46 pass attempts per game, while running the ball just 26 times a game.
