NEW ORLEANS —

A person was taken to the hospital Thursday morning after suffering a medical emergency at the New Orleans Police Department Headquarters.

The incident happened in the lobby of NOPD Headquarters on Poydras, according to the NOPD. Advertisement

No information was provided regarding the type of medical emergency the person suffered.

There is still a heavy police presence outside NOPD Headquarters, so those traveling in the Downtown area may see an increased number of officers.
