BOONSBORO, Md. (DC News Now) -- The public's help is being sought in finding the perpetrator who killed and injured at least eight cats using blowgun darts in Boonsboro.
Four cats were found last week in the Park Hall and Amos Reeder Road area, each shot with a steel razor-tip spearhead or triangular cone-shaped gun dart.
"We don't know if we're looking for someone who lives in the area, or someone who came through the area," Tracey Wiles with the Humane Society of Washington County said.
At least four additional cats, similarly harmed, were soon discovered in the area. Of the eight total, six were dead when discovered or had to be euthanized. The remaining two are recovering from surgery.
"Unfortunately, we see time and again that there is a direct connection between violence against
