HOUSTON (KIAH) — Police are investigating the discovery of a body of a missing University of Houston student earlier this week.

Jade McKissic, who has been missing since Tuesday, Sept. 9, was found dead in a bayou near campus on Tuesday, Houston police said.

Her body was found in some water at a bayou at 4998 Spur 5 on Tuesday, Sept. 15

According to The Daily Cougar, McKissic, 20, was last seen leaving her job at the LA Burgers and Daiquiris and was last seen on the 3700 block of North MacGregor Way on Sept. 9.

The cause of death is being determined by a medical examiner, HPD said. The investigation is continuing.
