A newborn baby was safely placed in the Muscle Shoals Safe Haven Baby Box during the month of September, which Safe Haven Baby Box Inc. says ultimately saved two lives – giving the baby the gift of life and protection and a mother in deep crisis a safe and legal way forward.
The baby box where this child was surrendered is located at the Muscle Shoals Fire Department and is part of a network designed to prevent infant abandonment by offering safe and anonymous surrender options.
Muscle Shoals Fire Department’s Safe Haven Baby Box, located at 2816 Old Highway 20 in Tuscumbia, was installed last year.
