SPOKANE, Wash. — Police are seeking information about a suspect who allegedly set a man on fire in downtown Spokane on Wednesday afternoon.
The Spokane Police Department says officers were flagged down near the North Browne Street viaduct around 3 p.m. on Wednesday and located a man with severe burns.
Witnesses told officers that a man walked up to the victim, doused him in gasoline and then set him on fire before fleeing the area.
SPD says the victim was transported to a local hospital for emergency treatment before being flown to Harborview.
The suspect is described as a man wearing baggy jeans, no shirt, and possibly carrying a tan backpack.
