There’s a new space on campus for Pitt students to lift weights, play pool volleyball, climb a rock wall and even play video games.
The University of Pittsburgh opened its new, state-of-the-art Recreation & Wellness Center this week. The 270,000-square-foot space features nine floors catered to promoting both physical health and mental wellbeing.
The O’Hara Street facility will be a “campus connector” focused on the holistic health of each student, said Carla Panzella, Pitt’s vice provost for student affairs.
“The facility was really thinking about how all students can access the facility in a way that’s not intimidating and that’s now overwhelming,” Ms. Panzella said during a media tour of the center Thursday. “We really do see the facility as a campus connector — a place where people
