GARY — A high-speed chase involving a truck recently stolen from Indianapolis ended with the suspect's arrest after a pursuit across state lines.
According to a press release, the chase began around 3 a.m. Thursday when a Lake County Sheriff's Department deputy joined an Indiana State Police Trooper in pursuit of a white Dodge Ram truck on Interstate 80 near Grant Street in Gary. The driver, reaching speeds over 100 mph, recklessly changed lanes as several police vehicles followed, according to the release.
The chase continued north on Interstate 294, where officers saw an object tossed from the truck's window near 159th Street. Oak Brook police successfully used stop sticks at Ogden Avenue, deflating a front tire. The driver exited the highway and stopped near Roosevelt R
