MARTINSBURG, Pa. (WTAJ) — A stretch of Route 164 through Blair County is being renamed to honor the work of late-State Representative Jerry Stern.

The Jerry A. Stern Memorial Highway will run through Martinsburg between Frederick Road and Agway Road, right past Rep. Stern's farm.

The highway was dedicated at a ceremony Thursday morning. Rep. Stern's family and lawmakers all spoke about how he dedicated his life to serving his community.

"He did dedicate a lot of his time to the community and to see this is a great honor. And to drive through that road and just to remember what are the things that he did, you know, for us to to kind of carry on that legacy of community service," said Jason Stern, Rep. Stern's son.
