EVERETT — The Snohomish North Lake annexation public hearing started as scheduled on Wednesday, but it won’t end until one week later.

On Wednesday Sept. 17, the County Council held a public hearing for an annexation of the Snohomish North Lake Urban Growth Area . However, council member Sam Low suggested continuing the hearing at 10:30 a.m on Wednesday Sept. 24 so the council could hear more from the public before putting the resolution to a vote.

The council voted unanimously to postpone the vote.

“We’ve obviously heard some testimony over the last couple weeks from residents,” Low said during the public hearing. “I know at least three who’ve gone out publicly against the annexation. I’m not sure how widespread the opposition is but there clearly is some opposition.”
