AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - Amarillo has been chosen to become the next destination for the Miss Rodeo Texas Pageant.
During a press conference at the Bivins House, it was announced the city has locked down the event through 2028.
Visit Amarillo says this event is another opportunity to attract more tourism while putting the city on the map.
“I think it’s especially exciting that as our office anyways leans into really promoting and trying to grow our rodeos and western events over the last few years. This really just makes sense and is a big bragging point for us that we’ve been chosen for this,” said Kashion Smith, executive director.
The pageant has been around for decades and is one of the state’s most recognized rodeo queen competitions.
Next year’s pageant will be a five-day event
