Major champions, Ryder Cuppers have all played in desert's Prestige golf event

As it enters its 26 th year next February, the Prestige men’s college golf event has plenty of connection to this 2025 Ryder Cup.

“For Europe, it is Luke Donald from Northwestern, who is the captain and was the No. 1 player in the world. He played in our first tournament,” said Mark Weissman, the founder and tournament director of the Prestige. “Viktor Hovland, Jon Rahm, Ludvig Aberg, these are all great players. Aberg is a three-time individual champion at the Prestige. They were always fan favorites at the Prestige and beyond.”
