OMAHA, Neb. —
Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine said he's thankful that a wanted man is off the streets.
Lamar Searcy, 27, had been on the run for two years, and Kleine said Searcy was even using a fake name to evade police.
Kleine said the warrant for Searcy's arrest was due to a failure to appear in court.
It stems back from an arrest in 2023 where his girlfriend at the time reported that she had been assaulted by Searcy.
She alleged they got into an argument and he threw her up against the wall, pulled a knife on her and more.
Searcy was in court on Wednesday, and the judge held him on a $100,000 bond in that case.
But that's not all. According to court documents, another girlfriend filed a protection order that same year.
