BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) - During September and October, we lose almost four hours of daylight, and less daylight means cooler temperatures.

Although we still have over 10 hours of daylight a day in September and October, our days are getting shorter and therefore cooler.

In September, our average daily high temperatures start around 79 degrees but fall to the mid-60s by the end of the month. Average daily low temperature starts in September around the 50-degree mark and falls into the mid-30s and low-40s.

Then in October, the temps fall even faster. Daily highs start in the mid-60s, and by Halloween, are only in the upper 40s. And daily low averages start in the mid-30s and low-40s and fall into the 20s by the end of the month.
