Sources monitoring the sale of Corelle Brands' glass plant tell Pittsburgh's Action News 4 that an impending sale to German glass maker Sediver has been terminated.

This development is due in part because the sale does not meet the criteria set forth by the Federal Trade Commission, specifically because Corelle Brands is a consumer glass manufacturer, while Sediver is a commercial glass manufacturer. Advertisement

It is a blow to the Charleroi community because nearly 300 employees lost their jobs when the plant shut down earlier this year, and it was the hope of the community that those jobs would be brought back with the impending sale to Sediver.
