KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — Kalamazoo County commissioners voted to enter a purchase agreement for the McDonald's property right across the street from the administration building.
On Tuesday, Kalamazoo County commissioners approved the agreement, worth $9 million. There were some votes against it.
"I am for the cheapest option and that is not this one, thank you," said Commissioner John Gisler, who represents District 6.
Vice Chair John Taylor of District 5 expressed his support while acknowledging the high price tag.
"It's not the cheapest option, it won't be the cheapest option. But I do believe it will hold the most value," said Taylor.
Commission Chair Jen Strebs, of District 2, said keeping the administration in Kalamazoo sent a message.
